Has Zildjian changed the K. Constantinoples?

I recently bought a second Zildjian 20" K. Constantinople medium-thin low ride cymbal, which I use as a left-hand crash-ride, so I could keep my original cymbal at my house gig. Whereas the new cymbal sounds predictably beautiful, with a clean stick sound, lots of wash, a wide crash, and a sparkling bell, it is less hammered than the older cymbal, it has a smoother edge (the original K. Constantinoples do reduce sticks to an unsightly bed of sawdust), and it seems to contain more copper. Or maybe its annoying new-cymbal shine just makes it look redder than its neighbors. The K. Constantinoples are in my opinion the best idea Zildjian has had since coming to America--they are the reason I switched from Paiste--and I hope the company isn't trying to "modernize" a classic instrument.
