Great sticks, but poor manufacturing consistency

I bought a couple of pairs of these a couple years back. I had one break and needed some new pairs. The new ones had different tip sizes, shoulder sizes and weights. Love these, but manufacturing consistency is just not acceptable.

The Persimmon wood sticks were better but these are good.

These sticks are a must have in your collection, good for full and articulate playing, but sub par for rolls. Good weight and great feel in the hands

I have been a Bolero fan for years, but needed a pair of sticks with better balance, more length, and allowed me more dynamic options on both sides of the spectrum. The Graham C. Johns have given me more sound control, timbre control, and technique control than any other concert stick that I have ever played. They have excellent weight, diameter, length, and taper. The taper does not displace the weight too far to the back like other sticks I have played. The bead achieves the "goldilocks" mandate for me--it's neither too big nor too small. The bead size allows the perfect amount of dynamic control for both extremely loud and soft playing, even with rolls and ruffs. The persimmon wood is light enough that the stick doesn't feel too dense, but it has enough weight that gravity gets to do its job easily. Thank you Cooperman!

My band teacher recommended these to me and they are definitely worth the price. They're light yet sturdy and feel great in your hands. Best concert sticks on the market.
Snare Sticks for My Son

I purchased these sticks as a Christmas gift for my son. These sticks and the Cooperman Nick Petrella #10s were recommended by his private teacher who is a professional percussion, so they must be very good ones. Also, my son LOVES them. He says the balance is perfect and they make his playing crisp and clean.
The service provided at steveweissmusic.com has always been outstanding, and their prices are very competitive with other sellers, both on line and locally in the Atlanta area.

I recently purchased a pair of Cooperman Graham C Johns Persimmon sticks from your company and was pleased with the on time delivery and follow up info from order placement to receipt. Actually I almost kept them for myself. Thanks

These are wonderful sticks. I play snare drum in a large stage band. These sticks have the balance and weight I need to play all dynamic levels. I love the ball shaped tip.

You're not a percussionist until you own these

The title says it all. You're not a percussionist until you own a pair of Coopermans, particularly the Johns #1s. Heavy, well balanced, and appropriate for nuanced solo and ensemble playing, these sticks bring out the best in your playing.

These sticks are a good choice as a general concert pair. They feel great in my hands for most things. A lot of players seem to like them, with varying grips and technical approaches. The short-ish to medium length combined with decent weight / density provokes a good snare response and tone from the drum. Best at moderate dynamic levels, typically p - f (the best of sticks at these dynamic levels, in my opinion), but means you have to work harder making these sticks a choice for delicate playing. Not convinced they are the best choice for the loudest of dynamics, and seem a bit cumbersome when reaching peak speeds.

These sticks have a very nice weight to them. They are versatile orchestral sticks that have a nice ball tip. The only problem is that the color can be an issue. I received my pair with two completely different colored sticks.

Recently purchased these as my first pair of concert sticks, after reading review after review on all kinds of other sticks. Best decision I could have made, Cooperman does an amazing job of balancing the weight of each stick as they feel perfect in hand! I highly recommend these sticks! A huge thanks also to Steve Weiss for being so prompt in delivery, these guys are quick!

Just getting back into playing after a long absence - very nicely balanced stick. May go with an elongated bead next time but for getting my chops back in shape (concert snare), nice option.

This was my upgrade from the SD1 many years ago. I remember it transforming the way I played due to its being exactly the same but somehow better. I now have a "wand chooses the wizard" mentality about sticks, but if you like the SD1, I recommend giving this a shot.

well balanced, nice weight, not too heavy. very articulate, great when your conductor wants light staccatos on the snare!
