I bought this to hold all of my sticks and mallets, and I have a lot. It has plenty of space with huge pockets on the front and the back. The problems are as follows: 1.) The loops. As soon as I hung it, one of the loops broke. 2.) The zipper. I have fixed the zipper around 4 times now and it's broken again. I give up. If you can get past those, this is a great bag. But I travel a lot and need my implements secure!
Super nice bag with plenty of room for numerous pairs of all your sticks and mallets with individual pockets for each on two levels with a built in cover. Folds and zips up and has convenient carry handle and strap. Extra pockets for your music. High quality. You won't be disappointed.
First, the caveat: the loops are borderline useless and will pull through with just a little bit of weight. I sewed in better loops myself to correct for this. Other than that, this is a great bag for those who like a ordered layout of mallets. Plenty of room, lays out nice and flat, outside pocket is roomy.

This bag has treated me fairly well. It's nice and tidy, holds all of my essentials, and is pretty convenient to carry around. Nice bag. My only problem was that the clip on the strap snapped off the second day I had it, but Steve Weiss and IP took care of that lightning fast at no cost.
This has been an excellent bag to use. It's top quality, holds everything you need, and won't fall apart on you, unlike some other bags. Get it, you won't regret it at all.
Great bag! I absolutely love everything about the bag, I have apx. 10 pairs of mallets, apx. 5 pairs of sticks, and 4 set of brushes/dreads, they all fit well. In the back pockets I can easily fit all of my lesson material/ensemble music. It also fit a pearl 12x12 trap table perfectly. My only complaint is that the middle string to hang the bag on a marimba came off after a few weeks of having the bag Everything else is fantastic and Innovative Percussion has made another great product!

This bag is superb! Great martial, holds plenty of mallets, and looks great. I would like it if there was one smaller exterior pocket to hold a metronome or drum key etc but still a great nonetheless.
This was a good bag when I initially got it when I purchased the college primer pack back when I was a freshman in my undergrad. When it was just those mallets and sticks that came with the bag, it was perfect. As my collection of mallets grew, the bag got smaller and a pain to travel with. After a while, it wouldn't even close because I had all of my gear in there and that didn't even include the books I wanted to place in the outside zipper pockets, but couldn't because I had all of my mallets in it. If you are only going to have 10-12 pairs of mallets in the bag, you're good. You could probably fit a few pair of drumsticks in it and maybe a notebook before you run out of room. If you are a mallet junkie like me, you're probably better off buying bigger bag or using this one as a travel bag for just the mallets you use.
Yes this is a huge mallet bag. Yes it can hold a lot of mallets and sticks. No it does not take the weight well. I purchased this bag 2 months ago and it has since then torn from the inside of the exterior pockets losing the thin fabric that separates the two pockets. Also the straps on the inside that hook onto the marimba snapped when I tried to hang it at rehearsal, and I still didn't have all my mallets in there just a handful of mallets and 2 marimba books. Innovative needs to take a look at reinforcing the very weak straps on the inside and finding a more durable fabric for the inside of the exterior pockets, something like the inside of the medium size IP bag would be perfect and wouldn't tear when you need it most.
I got this bag probably a month ago, and I love it. I'm going to college in the fall and needed something to hold all my sticks/mallets! When I got it, I was inspecting it and noticed a seam had been missed when they had it sewn, I called the help line, and they had me take pictures so they could send them to Innovative and I got a new bag 4 days later!!
Yes this bag is large but completely worth it! Also the price is not bad at all, especially for a bag as big as it is. Great for college or university percussion majors that have a wide selection or a large collection.
I already wrote a review over this, but I've come across a problem. The first time I tried to hang it on a marimba, one of the little tiny hook strings BROKE. So now I have a stupid looking, string dangling down, and a bag that I can't put on a marimba. :(
Okay: This bag is HUGE!!! You have to be crazy about mallets for this to not be big enough. It looks really funny when you're carrying it around. You get the WTF eyebrows from some people. That's why I like it. It works great. The outer zipper pocket thing is great for holding a music folder or small binder. I'm satisfied. Yes, you should get it.
I definitely love this mallet bag. It has lots of pockets that are carefully protected with the mallet cover. Tons of space and cool strap and handles for on the go percussionists or high school percussionists. Love the pockets on the front, holds my practice pad on one side and my music on the other.
This was a great quality bag but i would recommend the smaller bag to any kids or people who carry it everywhere. I got the bag, but it was too big so i sent it back.
I love this bag. Tons of space inside to store all of your mallets! Two very large pockets on the outside perfect for books, music, notebooks.... anything you need. I would recommend this bag to anybody!
This bag was okay for about three weeks. Then, The zipper broke and tour almost the whole front off. I fixed it up and sewed it back together. Then the zipper broke again. It fits all the sticks I need. But sort of stuffs them in the bag. Would recommend a suite case like bag.
This is a great bag! it can hold all the mallets I need and then some. Gotta love Innovative!
I've owned 2 of these bags. On the first on, I had it for less than a month and the zipper broke and the bag started to come apart. I called Innovative Percussion and they paid to have my bag sent to them and they sent me a new bag with 2 pairs of mallets for free. Since then, I have had no problems, I have 32 pairs of marimba mallets in this bag (2 pairs for every pocket) and it works like a charm. It does get heavy, but come on, you can't put a lot in anything without it getting heavy. Great Bag! GET IT!
4/5 Stars for this bag. Innovative logo looks really nice, its BIG, and (most of all) it keeps all of your mallets nice and neat. I carried it for about a year before the zipper broke, and it served me very well. I switched to a mallet case now instead because of this zipper-obsolescence, but I would not discourage anyone from buying this bag, or its smaller counterpart. A very worthy purchase!
I really really like this bag. I've been carrying it for about 7 months now and its no worse for wear. It has two really large pockets that you can put method books in and also fits a drum pad which I really like. I give it a 5.
It's a nice bag, It's made really big so your mallets won't be crammed, and you can actually sip it. It has nice handles and a nice strap. It is padded really well, BUT it does NOT have velvet lining.
