This block adds a nice solid sound that contrasts the higher pitched yellow "Blast Block" that I use in my set up. This is a good size which is easy to play and offers different sounds depending on where and how you strike it.
The thing that sets this block apart from the other plastic blocks that different companies make, besides the superior tone, is the mount. There is a hole on 3 sides of the block (the back and sides) so you can take the mount off and move it around. This is very useful if you want to fit as many instruments as you can in a small space with minimal hardware as you can mount the block on the same rack post as another instrument by using one of the side mounts. I don't see any reason for this to crack or dent any time soon. I got mine used and there is not even a scratch on it.
