This cymbal is amazing. It has a silvery, slightly dark, yet shimmering sound, with the perfect amount of stick definition. This is my first Bosphorus Ride, and I must say I am very impressed. I like the medium-thin weight. The cymbal gives ever so slightly when played, and there is a good amount of wobble, which makes for a great feel. The feel of the cymbal is just as important to me as the sound. Your stick leaps back at you when you play this cymbal. My percussion teacher was drooling over this cymbal after he played it.
Bosphorus' ancient methods of cymbal making create a soft, full, distinct sound that the big companies like Zildjian and Sabian just can't match. This is definitely the best jazz ride cymbal for the price.
Many people are wary of buying ride cymbals (or any cymbal for that matter) online, but Bosphorus has always been incredibly consistent in their sound, and you can rest assured that your instrument will sound incredible when it arrives at your doorstep.
