I used a 9000 on a backline kit and it felt great so I bought one. The pedal is built like a tank and as mentioned above "silky smooth". I used a 5000 for years and it was ok... I thought I was looking for a lighter feel pedal so I tried some others. Then the 9000. There's a world of difference over the 5000 and if you're a nuts and bolts features kind of person there are a ton of adjustments to play with to dial it in. I took it out of the box, adjusted the beater angle and that was it. I love it! I also bought the DWSM101 beater that has adjustable weights.. WOW. took 2 of the brass weights out. Super lightweight beater with smooth solid action = a happy drummer. Shout out to Steve Weiss music too! In stock and great service as usual.

The "gold standard of drum pedals," as our grandson called it, was a big hit on Christmas morning. He wondered how I found out about it. As a very talented drummer, he is thrilled with good equipment which can only enhance his joy in playing. He already knew about this store and wants to travel to Memphis just to visit it. Since Atlanta Drum Collective closed, there is not a good "drums only" music store in the city.

Solid, smooth, sensitive, fast, and almost effortless to play. It's clear that this pedal represents the culmination of research, physics, and professional input. Really great product.
