Too Light Weight & High Priced

I had bought the Black Swamp 30th Anniversary Dampener and so went for this Wood Drum Head Dampener. I asked for Dark Wood I received a Natural. I guess they do not open the envelopes to see the color. Okay be that as it may, this is too light a piece of wood. The concept of arching the dampener along the edge of the head is great and the felt glued to the wood is quiet, but this wood is just way too light to offer a controlled dampening. It was okay when I played orchestral drumming in piano dynamics, but I can't recommend this piece for drum set snares at al. I guess it could have a place for Orchestral Drumming but the Retail should really be $12.00 not $19.00. Get the price down and specify that the wood is extremely light weight for soft playing only.

the dampener itself doesn't sound awful and looks pretty cool, but it's way too light! Even after getting my snare completely level, it still shakes all over the places, and occasionally flips over entirely. it just doesn't work for its purpose, just use a towel or a wallet
