We plan on using these for concert band to give the 6th, 7th, & 8th graders an up-graded stick for snare drum. The tip helps them produce a more musical buzz for their rolls.

Sounds and plays the best for me

Comments:

I had a couple of months to prepare the well-known Lt. Kije snare drum part (soft and fast), and conducted several comparison sessions of this relatively large heavy stick with many others (Firth SD2, Firth SD5, Firth Genis Leggerio, Firth Gauger TG16, Cooperman 10.) The Atkatz, even though it was the largest and heaviest in this trial, sounded the best by far for these soft, fast passages. And it should be no surprise it also excels in louder passages (1812, Young Person's Guide). So it's all I use now.

Good sticks

Comments:

I'm in college, and I use these sticks for practicing and major ensemble rehearsals. They give you a strong attack, a pretty nice rebound off the head, and aren't too heavy (they weigh about as much as a 2A or 2B drumstick). Not usually a fan of acorn tips, but because of the great rebound from these sticks, buzz rolls sound fine on them. Overall, a great, dependable pair of sticks that feel great in your hands and that do everything the more expensive pairs do at a 1/3 of the cost.

Unmatched pair

Comments:

I have used other peoples pair of these same sticks and I loved them, so I though I would buy a pair for myself considering they are also recommended at my college. The pair I ordered were not the same pitch or weight and it's been irritating to try and play and get the same sound from both sticks, I just ordered another pair because I need a good pair to use, I am a little upset that they were not the same pitch, but I trust the next pair I bought will be better.

Excellent Stick

Comments:

I recommend these for anyone from beginner to professional. I like these slightly more than the Tim Genis stick (even though that is a very good stick in it's own right). I like the feel of the length and it's balance.

Very nice sticks

Comments:

These are awesome sticks. Definitely better than most Cooperman sticks, for only $8.50!!! Note that the persimmon wood used for these sticks are different than the ones used by Cooperman. Vic Firth's persimmon has a reddish brown color and are much heavier than Cooperman's persimmon.

One of a kind orchestra stick

Comments:

I didn't expect Vic Firth to make a stick this good. This stick is probably the most balanced drumstick out there. The weight is amazing as well as the rebound. It also has a nice classic wood scent from the persimmon. Rolls and articulation are amazing with this stick. The unique bead makes loud and clear sounds. The best part is....it's ONLY $8.50. These sticks are on par with the Coopermans, which are $23 on average. I'd recommend these sticks to anyone.

Still Going Strong!

Comments:

These were the first pair of snare drum sticks I ever purchased and they are still one of my favorites to use! Easily capable to producing big, round sounds on the loud end yet capable of also producing quiet and articulate sounds on the softer side. Without a doubt, a must have!

Great

Comments:

Great sticks and inexpensive. Way lighter then the SD1's I was using before and have a good length to them and work well for loud or soft playing but still have a full orchestral sound.

Best Concert Snare Sticks!

Comments:

I'm a High School student and I purchased these sticks about 3 months ago. These are FANTASTIC! They have a great feel and they're not heavy, but they still give out GREAT volume when you need it. The taper does take a little getting used to but they feel incredibly natural. Great all-around concert playing and definitely a step up from the SD1's.

Another great stick

Comments:

These sticks are excellent if you like to have the weight more in your hands (which is not me these days). They generate a big sound, but kick back pretty readily. They are very playable despite their girth.

Sticks

Comments:

These are a nice pair of orchestral sticks. The long taper makes it easy to play soft dynamics. These are a bit heavier and longer than regular drum sticks, and they have a much longer taper. They are very similar to Nick Petrella Cooperman sticks. Good Value
