I don't care for these mallets. The wooden shafts are too thick which makes bells and xylo sound pretty bad. No rebound. OK is a real pinch where you need a heavy mallet for timpani and go instantly to mallets, but only in a pinch.

When I first saw the Liberty Bell Mallet I thought it was a bit oversized. After using it, I have decided that it is OK -- but it would be better if the shaft were a bit more slender and the bell ball were a bit smaller. The whole thing is a bit too big and hard to move fast. So what you gain in speed changing mallets, you lose in mobility.
