As a percussionist in the PHS Band program, there are certain items each student must have to be successful as we transition out of marching season and into the percussion ensemble and concert seasons. In the Spring semester, each student will be required to have a mallet bag as well as a variety of percussion implements that they will use to play the various percussion instruments they are learning to play. These mallets and sticks I'm recommending below are intended to last your student for years to come if maintained and cared for properly. If your student already has each of these items, or has something of comparable utility and quality as determined by the band staff, there is no need to purchase them again.
