The only real complaint I have with this pandeiro is the jingles are a bit looser than most Brazilian ones. In Brazil many have 2 smaller washers, one above and one below the typical 3 jingle setup. This gives you a super articulate sound. However this may be a good candidate for mounting on a drumset (with a replacement head) like Stanton Moore, as this drum is loud and it will fit regular drumset heads. As it's a 12" it will be quite heavy to play traditionally, but that comes with the teritory due to its larger size.

I think Pearl did a great job with this over all. The price is the best in the USA for pandeiros and it is very high quality wood and not crappy plastic like the remo ones, however this does make it quite heavy, so you need to get a good grip to play it. The hardware is very nice and the photos barely do it justice with the yellow and green finish that looks really sweet up close. I'll probably end up getting the goat skin one as well. I hope Pearl keeps making this Brazilian line.
