Papadimitriou-Mainas Op. 9-5T - Product Information
"Mainas" is a synonym for Bacchante, priestess of God Dionysus, referring to the more enraptured priestesses. Their name comes from the verb "mainimai" (to rage). This piece has an intense and clearly Dionysian character, and should be performed extremely rhythmically with 4 very hard mallet. The four-bar and eight-bar phrases, along with the repetitions and the solo tempo, are characteristics of Greek urban music.
