Multi-Percussionist Haruka Fujii has toured internationally as a solo percussionist, marimbist, chamber musician, and hand drum player. She has presented performances at major concert halls and festivals in Asia, Europe, and North America. Those include appearances at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Hall, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Auditorium de Lyon, and Het Musiektheater in Amsterdam. An avid performer and advocate of contemporary music, Ms. Fujii has recently collaborated with composer and conductor Tan Dun in his Water Percussion Concerto with the Orchestra National de Lyon and the world premiere and tour of his opera Tea. She has performed numerous premieres in the United States such as Franghis Ali-Zadeh's percussion concerto Silk Road in Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall, Akira Miyoshi's Etude Concertante in Carnegie Hall, and Maki Ishii's Afro Concerto in Symphony Space. She has recorded premiere works of Akira Miyoshi for the Kosei label. She moved to the United States in 1998 and studied at the Juilliard School and the Mannes College of Music. She is a member of the NYC based new music quartet Circles and percussion quartet Line C3.
