Niimi-Shape of Wind-2V/Rins - Product Information
"Shape of the Wind" for Vibraphone was commissioned by Shinichi Ueno, who gave the first performance in Tokyo in 1990. Niimi uses many extended techniques to create interesting sonic events in this work. He recommends that the two vibes have different tuning to accentuate the differences in the material.

Tokuhide Niimi was born in 1947 in Nagoya Japan. He graduated from the Faculty of Technology at Tokyo National University. In 1975, He graduated from the Composition Class of the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. He was a jury Member of the International Competition of Ballet Music in Geneva together with G. Petrassi.
