LP Legend Johnny "Dandy" Rodriguez Bongos - Product Information
Johnny "Dandy" Rodriguez Jr., son of respected Latin musician Johnny Rodriguez, began perfroming as a tennager with Tito Puente. He later played with Tito Rodriguez in the 1960's and Ray Baretto and Tipica '73 in the 1970's. He then rejoined Tito Puente's Orquestra on Bongo and Cowbell for a 37 year stint. He inspired a generation of musicians and his influence is still felt and heard today.
These special Legends Series Bongos are made of European Beech wood, which provides extra resonance. The head sizes are 7 1/4" Macho and 9" Hembra Natural Rawhide for additional bottom end response and greater volume. These bongos are finished in Dark wood stain with distinctive black stripe and gloss finish. Traditional Rims, Cuban Style bottoms and 5/16" diamter tuning lugs put the finishing touches on these Legendary Bongos.
