This is a fantastic little book for intermediate students working on independence for the left foot in particular (though other limbs will benefit enormously as well). The exercises are cumulative, each successive drill involves a slight variation of the previous one. If you like this sort of methodical exploration, this book is for you. And although all exercises are only 2 bars long, many can be strung together or otherwise adapted into pretty interesting beats. The only drawback is the unchanging 8th note pattern on the ride: you will have to come up with your own variations when you are ready to do so.
