Jacques Delelcuse's 20 Studies for Xylophone after Kreutzer is crafted in the style of Kreutzer's famous etudes for string instruments. These studies cover many of the passages and styles one would see in modern orchestral music.
Jacques Delecluse studied at the Paris Conservatory where he won First Prizes for piano, percussion, chamber music and harmony. He subsequently took part in the foundation of the Domaine Musical with Pierre Boulez. For many years he has been a soloist with the Orchestre de Paris as well as teacher at the Paris Conservatory. He has also founded an ensemble of keyboard percussion instruments which bears his name.
