Jarvis-Macbeth and Macdonwald(2S) - Product Information
Macbeth and Macdonwald by David Jarvis, scored for Bb trumpet and percussion (bass drum, low and high tenor drums, snare drum and bongos) is a musical depiction of the batle described Act I, Scene II of Shakespeare's tragedy "Macbeth" in which a soldier reports to King Duncan of the gory confrontation between brave Macbeth and the evil Macdonwald. The composer makes use of "golden mean" symmetry by the application of the "Fibonacci series" in the trumpet intervals- a compositional device used by many 20th-century composers.
