Knox-Music for Viola and Percussion(2S)-P/M/V - Product Information
Music for Viola and Percussion by Charles Knox is a one-movement work in six sections. Each instrumentalist participates equally throughout. The one-movement work is in six sections. Each section (after the first) begins with a metric modulation into a different meter. Beginning slowly, the pulse of the music gradually increases into the fourth section, where the climax of the piece is reached, and gradually decreases in the fifth and sixth. Thematically the composition could be described as an arch form: the last section is derived from the first (but in a different meter) and the next-to-last from the second.
