McCarthy-Rimbadance (2S)-V/M/P - Product Information
Rimbadance by Daniel McCarthy uses timbral notation for the percussion part, indicating pitches for each percussion instrument in the set-up. After a free, improvisatory opening for the marimba, the vibraphone begins a sixteenth ostinato while the marimba plays fast runs and arpeggios over top. The multiple percussion set-up creates a fascinating dialogue with the marimba throughout the rest of the piece, driving all the way to the end.
