Psathas-Spike (SP)-V/M/PN - Product Information
Taking as its starting point the most primitive of musical ideas, the repetition of a single note, Spike (1998) by John Psathas moves through many environments, rising and falling in waves of intensity — some ecstatic, some dark, some effervescent — all the while maintaining this primary impulse, tapping out a one-note rhythm. Originally conceived as a solo piano work for Swedish virtuoso Peter Jablonski, this arrangement for marimba, vibraphone and piano has been performed by Dame Evelyn Glennie.
