In Membrano a Tre, each player is given a 4-bar theme. These themes are repeated together, successively and against each other, in full or split up.

In Rotazio a Tre, each musician plays an ostinato rhythm as well as an 8-bar theme. These themes occur in complete and shortened version, either at the same time or one after the other.
