Pearl Philharmonic Concert Snare Drum - Maple 13x4 - Product Information

The Pearl Philharmonic Ply Maple Snare Drum (PHP) features a 7.5mm thick 6 ply Maple shell.

The new Triad Silent Strainer provides three individual tension adjusters allowing you to fine tune the optimum tension for each type of snare material, and a single global adjuster is used for overall tension. All snares can be effortlessly changed by simply loosening the adjuster and one drum key rod.

Killer Piccolo

This drum has a combined crispness, depth and throaty power that makes it my very favorite piccolo snare. At low dynamics it is light and crisp, full out it is powerful and cutting. I've never felt that I was overplaying it because it has such a strong and full response. The tuning I'm using is with the snare head a 5th lower than the top, so the sympathetic response is strong but without the wobbly not-quite-in-tune sound of unison heads. On a DrumDial the Renaissance top is around 90.
