I purchased this at the suggestion of my mallet instructor. I am happy with my purchase and I would recommend this to students of all abilities. This book is definitely a skill builder and your playing will noticeably improve.

This book will never be out-dated. An outstanding source for scales and 2-mallet playing. If this isn't in your library, you should certainly consider it. The amount of variations provided and the endless possibilities of creating your own is incredible! Thank you Steveweissmusic, for yet another outstanding, on time delivery! I'll never shop anywhere else for my percussion needs!

I have not spent too much time on this book yet, but so far it has a lot of really great exercises for daily warm up and keeping chops dusted off. Similar to Stone's Stick Control, they are intended to be repeated several times at varying tempos. Each couple of pages explores a new key and new rhythmic and sticking ideas. Further more, all key areas and new concepts are applied to ragtime style playing in specific ragtime exercises that are in every chapter. A wonderful resource for beginning and intermediate xylophonists. Never forget about the fundamentals!
