Not great; Compromised no matter what's in it.

Comments:

I ordered this backpack as a means of carrying both my mallets and my "stuff" (a macbook, a few folders, and some books). This backpack seemed, at least in photos, to be able to carry everything I would need. This was not the case. You have two choices when it comes to this backpack, either an alright stick bag, or an alright backpack. You're compromised depending on whichever you choose. As a college student, like many others, $120 is not something I can just drop, and find out the bag isn't for me. It's a lot of money. For that money, you can buy a galaxy mallet bag, and a normal backpack, for cheaper. This bag is certainly not worth $120. Also, no it does not free stand. It never has, unless you angle it perfectly. All in all, this bag wouldn't be my choice for college students. If you travel a lot, with maybe exclusively a MacBook and mallets, sure, but it can barely hold sticks if they're slightly too long, and the mallets never quite lay correctly, they always seem to be awkwardly sideways. The bag is much smaller in person, it's about the size of a large drawstring bag. Can't recommend this bag, as much as I wanted to love it.

Incredible bag!

Comments:

This is definitely one of the best percussion bags I've ever owned! It's able to fit all of my daily essentials (like my laptop, notebooks, folders, etc.) along with the mallets and sticks that I regularly use. I used to carry around my regular backpack and a separate mallet bag, but this bag quite literally combined those two into one. There are also many functional details that add to its convenience, such as the sternum strap, luggage strap, hidden outer pockets for security, ventilated padding, and large pockets that can easily hold large flasks and water bottles. My favorite part of the bag is that it has little metal "feet" on the bottom that allows the bag to stand upright, meaning I won't have to lean it against something. The sturdy material makes me feel secure that my sticks, mallets, and laptop are protected. The design is really sleek and clean, making it visually appealing as well. For any percussionist, it's definitely worth the price for what you get out of its regular use.

Nice

Comments:

This is a nice bag! Love the backpack style and the construction is nice and feels durable. It has tons of storage locations but lacks storage capacity/space in those areas IMO. If I were still a college/studio student, this wouldn't cut it...but for someone gigging with specific sticks/mallets and some odds & ends (Music, iPad, charger) this is a nice alternative to a kitchen sink style bag!
