Adams 4.3 Octave Soloist Series Rosewood Bar Marimba with the Apex frame is a tremendous value for a full-size, Rosewood bar instrument.

This MSHA43 model Marimba features Honduras Rosewood bars tuned to A-442 Hz. Featuring a bar range of A2 to C7 and bar width of 2.3" to 1.6", this instrument has all the depth and tonality of Concert Series instruments while only sacrificing 3 tenths of an inch of bar width on the lower octave.

Overall length is 72.8", low end width is 35.4" while the high end is 15.7". The Apex frame is very easy to adjust and can vary from 33.4" to 41.3" tall. With an overall weight of 147 lbs, this instrument is as easy to transport as it is to play.

I absolutely love this Marimba!

I absolutely love this Marimba! I was a little bit skeptical because of the slightly narrower bars of the Soloist Series Marimba on the lower octave. But the lower price tag was more in my range than the Concert Series, so I took a chance, and I am not disappointed! The narrower bars took a couple of weeks to get used to, but I find I have better accuracy with the narrower bars than I did with the wider bars on my Musser Marimba. I was also concerned that the tone on the narrower bars would disappoint, but they did not! The tone on the lower octave bars is a little more subtle, with a little less attack than wider bars, but I don't mind the difference, and have grown fond of the softer tone. The marimba has a wonderful, consistent tone from its lowest to highest notes. It is an incredibly warm sounding instrument with great projection. Then there is the Apex frame, which is an incredible feat of engineering! In my opinion, there is no finer frame on the market. And it is one of the primary reasons I decided to go with Adams over many other marimbas offered in the same price range. The instrument was so easy to set up and adjust! I absolutely love it!

I absolutely love this marimba! It is beautiful and sounds amazing (I'm a beginner- but my son is an advanced player and is impressed with the quality). It arrived quickly in perfect condition and was easy to put together. Honestly, we are having so much fun and are so glad we got this exact marimba!
