Adrian Stefanescu Legato Finesse Series Rattan Xylophone Mallets - Product Information

The Adrian Stefanescu F3- Legato mallets are made of a rare wood that has the distinct ability to produce a warmer sound on the xylophone without losing too much presence of attack. This makes them ideal for decrescendo runs and rolls, offering excellent control over the lower dynamics.

Designed primarily for solos and rolling, the F3 cover a wider dynamic range and produce a fuller sound than the F1 and F2.

Type: Wood. 11/8 inch ~ 29 mm ball heads. Medium weight.
Rattan shafts, medium thickness: approximately 5/16" ~ 8mm diameter.
Shaft length: 13.5" ~ 343 mm.

Purpose: Recital / Chamber Ensemble / Orchestra - light orchestration.

The Adrian Stefanescu line of mallets explores the vast qualities of wood, revealing a different sound-color and feel with each model. All Adrian Stefanescu mallets are hand crafted using high quality exotic woods, and are precisely balanced.

The ASP Professional Performance Wood Mallets are intended to be played
on instruments with wooden bars. Using these mallets on a fiberglass
keyboard will produce damage to the mallet heads much sooner than normal.
The hardness of our mallets' heads is carefully measured to offer reasonable
durability when used as recommended, as well as a certain level of
protection to the rosewood bars. In addition, the beauty of their sound
can only become evident on wooden keyboards.

Beautiful sound

Comments:

This mallets have indeed a beautiful sound, warm and kinda cozy. I had few chances of playing with them because it's volume is just for quiet passages and with a small orchestra. Could work great in the pit, but even then it might just need a little more sound, depending on the situation. Having said that, It has been a great addition to my mallet bag. I do not have or heard another stick with such a nice quality of sound. It is really worth it.
