Mallets

Comments:

The double-ended mallets were just what I needed. The mallets are shorter than other mallets and are easier for me to use. The brass ends give the mallets two dynamic levels without any change in mallet stroke.

Delicate bell sound

Comments:

Wish I had bought several pairs for this concert. I saw no reviews on these and did not want to buy more not knowing how these would play, so only bought one pair. First, realize they are much shorter than typical mallets. Second, the larger end being in the hand, while playing with the smaller end, takes some getting used to. The smaller end DOES yield a delicate, though resonate, sound from the bells. The larger end is heavy enough to play forte passages, being able to flip back and forth between the two weights cut down on change of mallet time. In short, these were exactly what I was looking for to get that delicate music box sound I was looking for, for this Christmas concert. I recommend.

The Only Bell Mallets I Use

Comments:

I love these mallets. I bought them many years ago for a performance of "The Girl with the Flaxen Hair". The end of the piece has the lightest of bell notes and the brass mallets I was using at the time (standard wood shaft brass mallets) were way too heavy. I bought these mallets and they were perfect. They have the lightest of touches or, if you need the larger notes you can flip them around to the larger head and play out with the best tone. I am actually buying a second pair of these mallets because I need to play with four bell mallets for the Nutcracker in December.
