The Only Bell Mallets I Use

Comments:

I love these mallets. I bought them many years ago for a performance of "The Girl with the Flaxen Hair". The end of the piece has the lightest of bell notes and the brass mallets I was using at the time (standard wood shaft brass mallets) were way too heavy. I bought these mallets and they were perfect. They have the lightest of touches or, if you need the larger notes you can flip them around to the larger head and play out with the best tone. I am actually buying a second pair of these mallets because I need to play with four bell mallets for the Nutcracker in December.

American Drum Cantabiles Glockenspiel Mallets

Comments:

I've used these mallets for years in my own playing, and certainly with my students. When the Glock part demands a delicate / thin / and more sensitive approach from your student, one that adds color to the musical moment without dominating it, this is the mallet of choice for your young percussionists. Having the 1/2 and 3/8 size brass ball to choose from also makes this a very versatile mallet for fast changes in the concert. I think some folks are initially "put off" by the small/delicate non-traditional look of these mallets, DON'T BE, they're great! Please keep making them!

Great mallets, ideal for

Comments:

I bought these mallets for playing the glock excerpt from "The Magic Flute: Act 1, Finale". The end with the smaller brass head provides the ideal sound I wanted for the excerpt. My only gripe is that the opposing brass head leaves too much weight in the hand and not enough head weight. I recommend taking the heavier heads off and placing them on separate shafts so the performance is less tense when using the smaller brass heads. Great mallets though!

Orchestral Percussionist's best friend!

Comments:

These mallets have come in very useful for covering celesta parts for orchestra, which I have been asked to do more times than I feel necessary. Give them to the keyboard player already! I also like the fact the the shafts are so flexible, making staccato sounds easier and cleaner. Perfect for crotales as well.
