As a drummer, if you have neighbors who are hating on you, get the Aquarium Super Pads for your kit. There's very little volume that'll come from the drum, yet retains some of the tone so you can hear what you're doing. Pretty good feel as far as rebound and response. After purchasing, if your neighbors are still hating on you...well, it's not the drumming, it's something else.

Love, LOVE these Aquarian Super Pads for bass drums. They have a terrific response, allow the drum to sing a bit, all while keeping the volume way, way down. Thanks to Steve Weiss for prompt service and hassle-free delivery. 5 thumbs up!

These are fantastic. The only problem I have is that the material on the face of the head can split little by little with powerful playing. The take-away from this is to not wear sound dampening headphones while using these heads, because you'll end up hitting them too hard (I have a dampening and monitor headphone combo). Trust the head and work on your technique NOT on your power. I forgot this and now the heads have duct tape on those tears and rips to keep it from getting worse.

I would say that these pads definitely changed my practicing. Practicing stopped being so incredibly tone deaf and mindless at times. it was boring. I want to practice more now and my house mates really appreciate it not being loud. The only way this thing would be better would be to invent a product that doesn't exist yet; something that you can adjust the resonance of the drum that you place these things on. That would be the only possible improvement in my mind. They stay put, easily go on and off, and feel good. Esp the bass drum, which is always the problem child. GET THESE unless you have a soundproof room or a shack in the woods (both would be obviously better options).

I've tried a lot of different drum mute brands and I can say that these Aquarian Super Pads are absolutely the best. They cost more than other mutes, but you do get what you pay for. The stick response is very nice and comes closer to matching the feel of playing a real drum head than any other mutes I have played. You really do get some accurate tone from the drums even with these Super Pads over the heads. I have the 10, 12, 14, 16 inch pads on my kit and I play with them a lot. They are holding up very well. After considerable play time, they do show some stick marks on the white surface (which I expected anyway). As would be expected, the 14 inch snare pad has the most marks. I play with wood tip Vic Firth 5As for reference. I wouldn't hesitate to buy these again, they really made practice with mutes way more enjoyable than it has been before. I hope they start making more sizes too. 10 inches is the smallest pad Aquarian seems to offer in these Super Pads. I would like an 8 inch for my smallest high tom.
