Black Swamp 10" Synthetic Head Double Row Tambourine - TC2S - Product Information

The Black Swamp TC2S 10" Double Row Tambourine with Chromium 25 / German Silver jingles produces a bright texture with the sustain of German Silver and crunch of Chromium.

Synthetic Head
Utilizing a Remo Renaissance head, the Black Swamp SoundArt Synthetic Head tambourines provide exceptional feel, tone and response, matching or exceeding the similar qualities of the tradtional calf head versions. Resisting annoying fluctuations in humidity typically disastrous for calf heads, the Remo Renaissance head effortlessly maintains the consistency of head tension, and quality of sound, for the lifespan of the tambourine.

Solid Ash Shell
The body of the Black Swamp TC2S Synthetic Head Series tambourine is manufactured with a steam bent, solid ash shell. Black Swamp Percussion lathes the shells perfectly round in house, insuring a pure tone and exact fit for the Remo Renaissance head. The ergonomic handle design provides a comfortable grip on the instrument, and the dual sized jingle slots allow more seamless shake rolls.

Hand Hammered Jingles
All Black Swamp SoundArt Synthetic Head tambourines, including this TC2S model, are custom fit with hand hammered jingles for a full and unique sound.

The Black Swamp TC2S model tambourine includes a carry bag and bees wax.

"Versatility, consistency and a full range of expressive character are all qualities that make playing the SoundArt Synthetic Head tambourine an absolute pleasure…rain or shine." Christopher Deane, University of North Texas

Great for now...

Comments:

Let me say first off that I love this tambourine as it is now. However, the synthetic head is only glued on the top of the frame - not the sides. What you have there is a "bottle cap" effect. This is somewhat visually unappealing, but I am more concerned about the long term durability. Will the head stay on and stay tight? We will see.

Great Balance

Comments:

Great tambourine, though I prefer a calf head for feel and tone. It has the brightness and more natural sound of German Silver (for cutting through the ensemble sound), but the rhythmic clarity of chromium 25. Highly recommend

Prompt Shipping

Comments:

Purchased this tamborine, a Grover Super-Overtone Triangle and Grover Standard Tubular Beaters for my daughter who plays in a university band and orchestra. This equipment isn't cheap and the sound produced does appear to be more crisp than the LP equipment I use. But, don't know for sure if a general audience or non-percussionist could tell the difference. Anyway, my order was promptly processed, shipped and received in the time frame specified at the time of order even just a few a few days before Christmas. I will shop here again in the future.

Convinced

Comments:

I just got this tambourine today. Right out of the box, it sounded and felt great. I haven't applied any beeswax yet and I can thumb roll MORE than a full circle around the head! My school has several premium tambourines and I've never been able to do that... until now!
