Bopworks Mel Lewis Drumsticks

This was my first experience with Bopworks, I have to say I had high expectations for the signature Mel Lewis stick and surprisingly it met and exceeded all of them. Right out of the box they were extremely consistent and the lack of laquer felt great in my hands. Having played Regal Tips signature Jeff Hamilton stick the technique transferred over really well and made the stick seem to almost effortless to play. These are excellent for both Big Band and Combo settings, they bring out the perfect amount of articulation from the cymbals and pull out more of the darker tones of the cymbals (at least in the case of thinner cymbals like mine) I'm overjoyed to have found a stick that seems to work perfectly for my style of playing and allows me to pull out the sounds that I've been searching for in my drums and cymbals.

Decent pair of sticks. However, they are very light. You can barely feel them when your playing so these sticks are really only food for a combo or a light jazz band tune. I should also mention that they hold up pretty decent for being as light as they are.
