Rodis-Colossus (SP)-solo 5T/B/V/C/X/2M/P - Product Information
Colossus by Eric Rodis is a concerto for timpani solo and 7 percussionists. This piece features strong themes throughout with all voices painting a very well orchestrated picture. The timpanist is featured in both a melodic role as well as a more primal rhythmic role. This piece won third prize in the Percussive Arts Society composition contest in 2002 and makes an excellent showpiece to feature timpanists in a way that is not often achieved.
Colossus comes with a full score and includes a CD-Rom containing an audio recording and all individual parts available for printing.
