Leonard-Echoes of Eight-4T NEW EDITION

Echoes of Eight by Stanley Leonard is a timpani solo based on some of the rhythmic passages from Beethoven's Symphony No. 8. Beethoven's unique use of octaves on the timpani part is a particular focus of this solo, expanding this compositional technique into contemporary music language for the timpani.
