Great Head

Comments:

I paired the Evans G14 with an EC Resonant head on the floor tom at my church, (big room with hard, reflective, surfaces). Additionally, I used G12s on the rack toms with the EC Resonant heads. I've found these combinations give me just the right balance between attack and resonance. Highly recommend these heads combinations to anyone who wants sustain in their toms, but wants a slightly shorter decay.

Coating not durable

Comments:

The sound is great and the respknse is wonderful but the coating started to peel off after one gig. Really disappointed. I played 2 or three songs with brushes and the coating started to peel off!

Takes a lickin'

Comments:

These are seriously tough heads. The coated version is very warm and clear in tone, exactly like you'd expect from a really thick single-ply. I'm using them on my "big" kit, mostly rock, but some jazz stuff too, and they are perfectly versatile. I'm also using them on marching rack toms, and I'm surprised at how well they do. I'd probably go with clear heads outside next time, for a little more brightness and carry, but these are working great. Most importantly, they show virtually no wear and tear, they keep their pitch, and are generally very impressive even after several weeks of daily abuse.
