Evans Genera G2 Clear Drum Head

I record my Mapex Saturn drums and had usually used Evan EC2SST heads. The SST heads are really very good but I am liking the more open tone of the G2. They also seem to be more durable as I would have put some sort of slight dent or dimple in the SST heads by now and have not in the G2s. I tune to a medium tone (76 on the Drum Dial) and it is full sounding and not boomy.

This is a good head, but there are some issues for my taste. It marks up a lot and does not sound good at all when not tuned correctly. You must be pretty good at tuning to make this drum head sound good. I hope with the new drum set, my band director at my school will make a little bit of a better choice when choosing to replace the stock heads on the Yamaha stage custom drum set.
