Excellent Option for Flat Based with great tilter!

Comments:

This is a great stand and a great value! I noticed the quality right out of the box. 8mm wing screw/nuts throughout. Let's face it, all flat base cymbal stands are judged by the original Ludwig 1400 model from long ago. I put this Liberty One head to head with my Ludwig 1400. The first thing I noticed is that the legs on the Liberty One stand are very long. Too long, in my opinion, to fit into tight setups. The legs are 13 1/4" long a piece. The Ludwig are 10" long each. I ended up cutting 3 1/4" off each leg, and now it is much more useable and compact but still sturdy. I just pulled off the rubber tips, cut the legs, and put the rubber tips back on. It now takes up the same footprint as the Ludwig. I had no problem folding the legs after cutting them, they folded up fine just as before I modified them. The tilter is very nice on this stand. It is gearless and also rotates 360 degrees around the perimeter. It has locking nuts for everything. Very robust! Much better than I expected on this stand. Overall, this stand is great and pretty light. After my leg modification, it is even more user friendly and compact. I recommended this stand to anyone! Here are the technical specs for this stand: The base section has legs that are 13 1/4" long each. The base section has 1" tubing and is 16 3/4" long. The middle section has 3/4" tubing and is 18" long. The top section has 5/8" tubing and is 18" long, not including the tilter. It weighs 4 pounds, 7 ounces (after I cut the legs shorter). By comparison, my Ludwig 1400 weighs 3 pounds, 8 ounces, so it's just slight heavier than the old Ludwig. I took detailed photos of the stand, but I can't post them here. I highly recommend this stand!
