Gestalt by Toshimitsu Tanaka is a four mallet solo scored for 4.3 octave marimba. Gestalt is a word which can be used to mean the ambiguous and vague figure or shape. This can express various shapes reflected in the eyes such as a circle, square, triangle, or the shadow of a person, etc. The verb gestalten means to form, and is used to express the extension of mind with an artistic background, existence in the space, memory to the past, mental image or invisible scene, etc.
