The backrest "add-on" from Gibraltar works perfectly, is easy to attach and the quality is excellent.

If you have (or are going to get the 9608OS seat and you like larger backrests ( not those small half round things ) get this backrest. Take the threaded knob and threaded plate insert out of the rectangle channel on the mounting bracket and mount them ( along with the chrome L shaped backrest bar into the same rectangle channel that's on the bottom of the 9608OS. Mount the backrest and your done. i think it fits me the best with the L shaped bar pulled all the way out but adjust to fit you. Plus now you have a heavy duty 4" +/- plate that can be mounted to a round pole/shaft to use for something else.

Nice product. Will swivel on throne post while playing so it won't always be perfectly aligned with seat and back.

I was hesitant to buy this back rest because I had never seen one in person, and the pictures don't make it look very sturdy. I ended up buying it for when I play church services and have a good deal of time that is spent not playing. I was extremely satisfied with how sturdy it was! Provides all the support I could imagine. I will say I wish the angle of the back rest was adjustable so that it wasn't completely vertical all the time.
