Gibraltar Tom Hoops

I needed a triple flanged hoop to fit a 1920's snare drum and found this kind of rare size from Steve Wiess. It is a high quality hoop and works just fine for my purposes.

What can I say? They're Gibraltar hoops. They are 2.3 mm, chrome and round. Good packaging and shipped quickly. As of summer 2023, NOBODY had 14" six lug hoops except for Steve Weiss Music. I needed them for the purpose of upgrading the hoops on my Yamaha Stage Custom kit. The stock hoops were 1.6 mm and didn't seem to hold the tuning very well. The Gibraltar hoops made for consistent tuning that holds. Just like anything they produce, these things are quality. If you need to upgrade your existing hoops, replace a damaged hoop or use for a custom build, I would highly recommend you check out Gibraltar.

The hoop is good. It's a hoop. But, customer service is outstanding. It was shipped supper fast. There was a slight problem with shipping (not Steve Weiss fault). When I called they immediately took care of it. I was very impressed. Thanks again!

When I replace drum heads, I use a glass top table that I know is quite flat. I noticed the original, poorly made, snare hoops were fairly warped. Gibraltar makes very solid replacement drum parts, so I purchased these. The drum is now far more solid and the sound improvement is very clear!
