Innovative Dan Moore DM28 Jazz Vibe Mallets - Product Information

This series of marimba and vibraphone mallets was developed for musician, composer and educator Dr. Dan Moore. Dan feels that creating music is the art of sculpting sound. Whether in a live concert or the recording studio making art with sound is all about choosing the right tools to shape your music. All of the models in the Dan Moore line highlight his full-bodied, resonant, and “fruity” sound. These mallets work well on both marimba and vibes. You can mix and match to help create your own sculpture in sound. All models have rattan handles.

The DM28 jazz vibe mallets are slightly lighter than the DM26. They work well in the upper registers of the marimba for combo/ensemble performance. It features a rich tone with good projection and a modern jazz sound. The DM28 also works well for unaccompanied vibe performances.

better than I originally thought

Comments:

They are personally a little long for me but after cutting off about an inch from the back i use these more than any of my other vibe mallets. doesnt matter if its for jazz, percussion ensemble, solo playing, I love them

Mallets

Comments:

These mallets are the real deal, I highly recommend for jazz ensemble or in my case, a percussion ensemble in swing. I would maybe recommend something else for a wind ensemble but they are great overall mallets with great feel, balance and length.

Very satisfied

Comments:

I am new to the vibes, but I've pretty quickly caught the 'mallet bug'. I cycled through 2-3 sets of mallets before settling on these. I like them because they bring out the individual voices of chords well. They also project very well. Lastly, they seem to be extremely well made. Highly recommend.
