Great mallets but easily worn

Comments:

Fantastic mallets for the price, get a nice articulate hard sound, but get worn very easily and are prone to breaking.

Jim Casella 1003 mallets

Comments:

The sound quality of these mallets is great, possibly the best I've heard, however the feel of the mallets does not allow as firm a grip as one might need. They are a little slippery. Perhaps less coating would help. They are very durable.

The IP1003 is a great mallet for upper-register playing in both indoor and outdoor ensemble settings. The balance and build of this mallet will facilitate technique and muscle building in most all players regardless of level. Although experienced players will maintain dynamic control, I would only recommend this mallet for situations where the upper register of the marimba must speak clearly and brightly.
