Innovative Percussion expands its Mark ford series with the IP811 marimba mallet. This is part of Ford's Strong Legato series. This uses a slightly larger rubber core to produce a stronger fundamental while the extra soft yarn lessens the bar contact sound. Perfect as a bass mallet in a graduated set or solo mallet when the performance calls for a softer touch.

Heavy Mallets

Comments:

Since I started playing again these are the heaviest mallets I've purchased and the sound quality is great. I'm getting a good workout on my forearms and wrists while playing with these and highly recommend them. For performing there is a low amount of bar contact sound so I expect them to play well in an ensemble for pieces that need legato marimba tones.
