Innovative Field Series FSSG Shane Gwaltney Marching Snare Drumsticks - Product Information

The Innovative Percussion FS-SG Field Series Marching snare drumstick is designed to the specifications of Shane Gwaltney, visual designer and battery arranger for Music City Mystique, percussion coordinator and battery arranger for Spirit Drum and Bugle Corps, and percussion coordinator for Choctawhatchee High School.

Like all of Innovative's marching snare drumsticks, the FSSG is constructed of heartwood hickory. It features a medium taper that flows smoothly into the barrel-shaped bead without a defined collar. The large diameter makes the stick suitable for outdoor use while the bead provides a clear articulation, making the stick also appropriate for indoor playing.

Weird

Comments:

This stick has a great weight to it. Plays excellent for either indoor or out door. This stick feels just like Ralph Hardimon stick from Vic Firth but with a better feel. The stick usually isn't pitched right so its a bit weird, however the stick has a great feel and sound off the head.

Really Great sticks for any age group I love the color and feel of them they produce a real dark sound. That's just what I need when I'm playing.

Sticks

Comments:

I love the stick, but the pair that was sent to me was unmatched. Completely different weights. Hear two different sounds on a drum. More quality control needs to go into what pairs are given to customers.

IP FSSG Snare sticks

Comments:

I ordered these sticks about 2 months ago and they have held up very well. I love the fat barrell tip and how the stick looks in general. One issue I found was that the butt of the stick was completely flat. It wasnt too important to me but I feel like when I play a backstick with it, it doesn't produce the same quality of sound as other sticks might (when using the butt). Also, they are a bit too heavy for me, and the sound they make on a PROPERLY tuned snare is too low for my tastes. Other than that, they have a great feel, amazing balance, and a very long lifetime. I would recommend these to anyone.

Awesome Sticks

Comments:

They produce a great low tone on the drum and they have a sold weight to them. It really brings out the sound of your snare and they feel great in your hands. Best Sticks I've ever used, and I've used a lot of marching snare sticks in the past. Overall, they are high quality sticks designed by a fantastic arranger.
