Liberty One Caxixi - Product Information

The Liberty One Caxixi is a hand held shaker instrument that features a bead filled woven basket on a coconut base. The basket chamber resonates with soft earthy tones highlighted by the bright qualities of the coconut base.

Often in Brazilian music you'll the he Caxixi used in conjunction with the Berimbau.

Comments:

I like the lower-pitched, full-bodied, mellow, crunchy-like sound. I like wide diameter of the basket, which makes it easy to generate and control the sound. I wish that the base was flat, to more easily create a clean, brief strike sound. I wish that the beads were made of seeds or pebbles, instead of plastic. Also, I don't want or need paint on the outside of the basket. Nevertheless, very nice.

A nicely made Caxixi

Despite the fact that I still cannot spell ku-she-she, this instrument is a great value. You can always expect quality instruments from the Liberty One product line.
