Lobi/Naranjo/Beall-Fer Barre Kona Jeno (StS/Solo part)-Solo Gyil/wind ensemble - Product Information
Fer Barre Kona Jeno is a West African Concerto for Marimba and wind ensemble (gyil solo composed by Kakraba Lobi, adapted and arranged for marimba by Valerie Naranjo, wind ensemble arrangement by Andrew Beall). This item includes the solo gyil part and the wind ensemble study score. The Gyil (pronounced JEE-lee) is one of the grandparents of the mallet keyboard family. Made from fourteen wooden slats that are suspended, on a frame, over calabash gourds, it sounds like the Western marimba, yet more earthen in character.
