I am a beginner (but older) conga student and was advised to buy decent drums rather than the cheapest drums. I was also told that good drums have a decent resale value if I decide to not continue with conga. Well I am very very pleased with the quality and sound of the drums (I bought a conga and tumbadora). They make me sound better than my actual skill level !! They may be a little expensive for some beginners. But you definitely will not regret getting them if you can.

Picked up the tumbadora to pair with the Matador Conga I already had; the conga has lasted me 10 years and have had zero problems (I couldn't afford the pair 10 years ago and had to settle with just one). this drum looks and sounds just as good. And Steve Weiss had the best price, especially when comparing shipping costs and times.

Finally got the quinto match for my Matador conga. Great quality, great price, delivered to my door for cheaper than I could buy it anywhere in town.
