Malletech Bob Becker BB34 Medium Rattan Xylo/Bell Mallets "Becker Blues" - Product Information

Malletech BB34 Bob Becker Series Xylophone and Glockenspiel Mallets are a medium-bright lightweight xylophone mallet with a clear, but not overly bright tone. Sometimes referred to as "Becker Blues" these mallets were designed for solo xylophone and are light, similarly weighted and easy to maneuver quickly around the instrument. The rattan handle diameters are 7 to 7.4 mm on the BB34. These mallets will not damage rosewood bars in any way.

Specifications:

  • Mallet Head Size - 1 1/8"
  • Handles - Rattan
  • Handle Diameter - 7-7.4mm

Great, but the handles are thin

Comments:

These are great mallets, and I knew I needed to get a pair the first time I played with them, however, the handles are pretty thin and can cause them to whip around if you don't know how to control the rattan. If you want something a bit heaver with the same great sound I would recommend the innovative James Ross mallets (And personally wish I nabbed those first) But these are amazing mallets and absolutely deserve their place, but my only issue is the handles. 9.5/10

They sound great but...

Comments:

These mallets sound amazing, they are definitely a must have for any xylophonist (I personally use them for rags). My one complaint is that they're too light.

Solid mallets!

Comments:

Finally bought my first pair of xylo mallets in college, very nice choice. Sounds good in a very wide range, nice balance and feel. Not too bright but still got a little zing to them. Would recommend for anyone starting to build their mallet collection :)

Great mallets overall

Comments:

These mallets are great and I would buy them again. The only thing that may throw some people off is that the mallet shaft is slimmer compared to other mallets such as the Ip902.
