These are awesome - very large head but not at all heavy feeling. Great attack across the full range, especially for a medium mallet. Good high-end attack, and the low-end has great depth. It's described as a medium mallet, but at low volume they almost feel like a soft mallet - so it's easy to get cool tones from soft to loud. I'm using these for solo live-streaming work (my vibes have pickups) and pre-recorded material, but I'm sure they would work great in a small ensemble, big band, etc. I'm used to shorter mallet handles (old-school rattan Good Vibes Mike Manieri and Gary Burton models) and I play with Musser grip, so I sometimes cut off an inch of newer mallet handles, but these just work great as is. Watch some Warren Wolf videos and you'll get a great vibe from these :)
