The Mapex Armory 6 Piece Studioease Drum Set Shell Pack utilizes the Mapex Hybrid Shell concept. This means each shell is a blend of birch and maple that delivers a responsive and expressive tone. SONIClear is another Mapex concept that maximizes the resonance of the shells while keeping stress away from the tension rods ensuring consistent and lasting tuning. SONIClear is a system Mapex uses to maximize resonance of the toms and drum heads. This is used in the tom suspension arms, floor tom feet and bearing edges.
