Good for a STUDENT

Comments:

I've had this bag for 5 semesters (and counting) of my collegiate career. Yes, for the price there is better; however I find the pockets on the front to be convenient for music, studies, misc. percussive accessories (i.e. towels). The quality of the bag is nice, yet flimsy. It offers minimal protection if you drop your bag, but the nylon interior keeps the mallets from fraying better than most other bags on the market, although, there are places where the nylon is torn along the edges (due to self-inflicted stupidity). If I were to go back I would probably choose a different bag, but I wanted a bag to match my Marimba One mallets. DO NOT get the bag if you are an actively touring percussionist, despite the premium price, you are not getting a premium quality product that will withstand constant abuse. This bag is fantastic for an organized student, but that is where the line is drawn. --Side notes: This bag has pockets for a tuning fork/pitch pipe, timpani/drum key, pencil holder, and an I.D. card. Also, I find the backpack straps useful whenever I don't have a backpack on. The zipper is high quality and you won't have to worry about breaking it. **Mamimba One can improve on this product by adding more padding/thicker material for structural integrity and a better stitching pattern for attaching the nylon inside or a thicker nylon be used in its place.

Good Company; not a good case.

Comments:

I own a Marimba One marimba, and have the utmost respect for the company. This case though, is one of the most terrible bags I've ever dealt with. I had three of them over the course of 6 months because of how generally flimsy and weak they are. I would not recommend this case for someone carrying hundreds of dollars worth of mallets with them.

Perfect for college student

Comments:

My daughter is an orchestral percussion student in college. She is thrilled with the backpack-like aspect of this mallet bag as differentiated from the usual one long strap which places all the pressure on one shoulder. Great when you have a long walk to make with your equipment.

Marimaba One Mallet Bag

Comments:

The bag was not the quality anticipated from Marimba One. Backpack straps had plastic connections and the fabric was extremely thin. Will be returning the product.

Finally found the one!

Comments:

Being a student who is majoring in percussion going for a performance degree at a university, this bag has finally been my answer to basically....trying to carry less stuff everyday. This bag literally has it all and it does more then carry all of you marimba, vibraphone, xylophone mallets. Don't forget thos symphonic snare sticks and drum set sticks and your timpani stick lol. It really protects them as well with the nylon flap that it's got inside as well. It's super heavy duty and I can tell that this big is going to last me pretty much forever! The outside JUMBO POCKET is literally an added on backpack. It have more room then my old backpack and it can hold all of my music with a ton of room to hold work books or the ocassional text book. Even though I am holding more stuff them ever, because you can wear it like a back pack it feels lighter then ever. Nothing bad can be said about this bag. If you are a serious percussionist and you have A LOT of mallets to carry and then some with a few extra things to carry....GET IT!
